Welcome to Matignon High School a Jesuit-endorsed co-educational college prep school proudly serving metropolitan Boston and the northern suburbs since 1947!
On a bright September morning in 1947, Sister Magdalena, a Sister of Saint Joseph, called classes to order and Matignon High School began its tradition of excellence, providing the students of metropolitan Boston and the communities to the north a rigorous college preparatory education.
Since 1947 Matignon has proudly served the Greater Boston region as one of the Archdiocese’s premier co-educational Catholic schools. A school known for its academic rigor in the classroom and athletic prowess in the Catholic Central League, Matignon has a rich heritage and proud history. Over the course of close to six decades a lot has changed, but the love of learning and the proud traditions of the school remain the same. Perhaps its most significant shift since the cornerstone was laid in 1947 came in 2004 when Matignon became an independent Catholic high school. Under a new Board of Trustees, the majority of whom are Matignon Alumni. In December 2005 the Society of Jesus, The Jesuits, one of the oldest religious organizations in the world, endorsed Matignon High School and began an exciting partnership with the School. Without a doubt Matignon High School is forging ahead into a new era of faith-based education and service to the same Greater Boston communities it has proudly served for over 50 years! We are glad you are taking an interest in our great school.
You will find a rigorous academic program at Matignon High School. The academic program is designed to prepare all of our students for college. Reflecting our commitment to intellectual greatness and our ongoing quest to motivate lifelong learners, Matignon High School is pleased to offer not only college prep courses to its students, but we also offer a number of Honors level and Advanced Placement courses. As a small school with under 400 students, Matignon High School’s athletic opportunities are available to ALL students interested in participating in a sport. Just ask the five young men in our freshmen class skating on our varsity hockey team or the 3 freshmen that were on the Catholic Central Championship varsity soccer team this year how it feels to be playing varsity. At Matignon you will play a varsity sport if you would like that opportunity! With a variety of interesting and educational clubs, our extra-curricular program is unmatched. Perhaps our most noteworthy characteristic however is not necessarily found in the classroom or on the playing field, but instead can be found in our service to the neighborhood and in our community service programs throughout the region. Our Christian Community Service programs help to define what it is that makes Matignon High School a unique, strong and vibrant learning community.

Also, please keep in mind, if the transfer applicant is a varsity athlete, he/she may need to obtain a waiver from the MIAA.
